Spring Weather is Wonderful, Isn’t It?
You may have noticed how “warm” spring is this year in Northern Utah? That unusual weather has brought with it some unusual problems we don’t typically encounter in spring. By this time of year, we normally deal with allergies, stuffy noses, sore throats, and other irritants. We go through spring cleaning to deal with it; we clean out our homes, change some diets, and hopefully hit that summertime body goal that we all started out with in January.
However, we are still dealing with stuffy noses, sore throats, and other fun problems due to weird weather, and this extra weird cold and flu season. The more extreme wet and cold leaves some of us feeling the weather more in our joints. More children, especially teens in school, have been coming home sick. So, what is a quick, yet healthy option to help?
Some Products To Help With the Spring Weather
There are so many ways in which we can assist our bodies in our health journey! Here are 4 personal care products that can help the most until the real spring arrives. All things to help you breathe better and feel better.
1. Chest Rub
This powerful chest rub is formulated with lung-supporting botanicals like mullein, eucalyptus, and ravensara essential oils. These ingredients work together to help clear mucus and congestion, making it easier to breathe—especially when dealing with colds, allergies, or asthma. It also supports respiratory health by combating bacteria and viruses that can settle in the lungs.
2. Lip Balm
As the seasons change, dry lips become a common struggle. This nourishing lip balm contains just three simple yet effective ingredients that deeply hydrate, leaving your lips soft and smooth. Plus, it offers the added benefit of preventing and healing cold sores, keeping your lips healthy year-round.
3. Cinnamon Lotion
Cinnamon isn’t just a cozy seasonal scent—it also has a natural warming effect that soothes sore muscles and joints. This lotion is infused with clove oil as well, known for its ability to ease mental exhaustion and promote a sense of clarity. Perfect for unwinding after a long day or providing comfort during colder months.
4. Magickal Ointment
With the changing weather often comes dry, itchy, and irritated skin. For those who suffer from eczema, these flare-ups can be uncomfortable, unsightly, and even painful. MyFerrLady’s Magickal Ointment is crafted to deeply heal and nourish the skin, providing relief from extreme dryness, eczema, cuts, scrapes, bruises, rashes, and acne. I originally created this ointment for my youngest, who struggled with eczema flare-ups throughout his early years. Since then, it has proven time and again to soothe irritation, reduce itchiness, and promote fast healing.
Other Steps to Help
There are other, not so often common, helpful breathing tips that come from deep cleaning and maintenance of the home. Many of the big box cleaning products actually add to breathing problems, creating issues for our lungs with the fumes and toxins we inhale while cleaning. I make most of my cleaners for this reason. What we breathe, ingest, and use on our skin makes such a huge difference for our overall health. Here’s a video about one I use every day for so many things, mostly cleaning the kitchen and bathroom areas. I use it for mopping and wall cleaning as well!
It can also help to remove excess dust and pollen from your home’s air ducts. We often don’t think about just how much gunk there is in our air ducts and our heating and air conditioning systems will blow it all throughout the house if we don’t get rid of it. With some professional help from air duct cleaners, you can get the air in your house free of things that will irritate your throat, lungs, and eyes.
