Lotions, Potions, Reiki, and Tarot

The weather has turned.

The weather has turned here in Northern Utah from a balmy 60 degrees to highs in the 40’s and it’s starting to feel like winter.

We talked about preventative tonics and syrups which are amazing, but what do you do if you already have a cold, or you stepped away from the healthy eating because your kid turned 12 and you make amazing cake? I mean,  was I supposed to just not eat 2 or 3 pieces a day? LOL ok, I didn’t really eat THAT much, but we did have out and about processed food that we don’t usually eat and I had a few days feeling under the weather.

In those instances, I do a few things. First, when I have eaten things I know have a lot of artificial dyes and preservatives, I take activated charcoal. Now, once again, I am not a doctor. Everything I talk about are things we do in our house that may come in handy for you as well, but I am in no way diagnosing, prescribing or otherwise giving medical advice. Ok, that out of the way, activated charcoal is super handy. I just do a teaspoonish in my nightly magnesium drink, which I also happen to add a teaspoonish of diatomaceous earth and a tablespoon of salt water. I’ve noticed when I do this, I don’t wake up with a headache in the morning where generally speaking those types of foods would cause that for me.

In the cases where I have overloaded my system too much, I will end up doing a 24 hour fast. This helps my body reset. I will drink salty lemon water in the morning, actually I do this every morning, but I will also do a hot water in the after with lemon, honey, and cayenne. I use about a tablespoon of lemon juice and honey and probably a teaspoon worth of cayenne. If you’re not someone who uses cayenne regularly, I suggest starting with a smaller amount. I happen to enjoy cayenne alot and tend to add it everywhere I can. This seems to help things along with cleansing.

If you’ve had far too much sugar and ended up with a full blown cold, use both the turmeric tonic and elderberry syrup taking them at least 3 times a day to help the illness and inflammation clear out quicker. If it’s hit your lungs and you have a cough, pineapple juice is great, just be sure you start it before you’ve coughed your throat raw otherwise that can burn a great deal.

Also, MyFerrLady’s Magickal chest rub is AMAZING for anything lung related. The mullein and eucalytpus oils are both known for their assistance in healing the lungs. Ravensara and pine needle oils are excellent for respiratory conditions as well. As with all MyFerrLady’s Magickal Products, there are no artificial dyes, preservatives, or fragrances and specifically no turpentine. I’ve been told the reason that particular ingredient is part of some of the major brands for this type of ointment is that it’s an expectorant. Well, yes. Most poisons are, but I don’t necessarily want to put them on my skin! So, for a safe and healthy rub that can be used on the chest, back, or feet here is MyFerrLady’s Magick: MyFerrLady’s Magickal Chest Rub | MyFerrLady’s Magical Boutique
