Why Grounding is so Important and Some Easy Ways to Do It.
Let’s talk about grounding and not the kind our parents did! Don’t get me wrong, I kinda love going to my room now and taking breaks from electronics, but the grounding we’re talking about today is much different. And simultaneously not. Grounding, in this context, is also known as “earthing” and it’s reconnecting with the earth and its energy, frequency, and vibration. So, in essence, it is another form of taking a break or downtime but in a more positive way. We are all energetic, electrical beings and the earth’s energy and electrical frequencies are an amazing healing source for us.
How Can We Ground?
The most perfect way to ground is to actually touch the earth. Barefoot walking across the earth very quickly absorbs the earth’s frequency and vibration bringing healing in right away. If you can, get out on the grass with as much bare skin as possible and just lay on the earth. The very best grounding is to touch actual earth, however, as I write this, it is winter where I am and a bit too cold, at least for me, to do this. So, we look at other ways we can ground. There is a lovely grounding meditation I like to use, especially when doing events where we aren’t outside, that helps my clients to ground and connect when we are doing energy work and has been an incredible tool to use. Connecting to the earth with the specific intention of drawing in those lovely vibes is always a good choice, especially when you can be outside, directly connected to the earth.
A Simple Way to Ground Indoors.
I mentioned above a way to ground while indoors. It’s a simple meditation that doesn’t take much time, but can be very effective. Sit comfortably, feet on the floor. Breathe in to a count of 7, hold the breath for 7, and breathe out for 7. This can be a quick count if needed. Visualize roots extending from your feet down through the floor, foundation, and into the earth. Dig down deep into the earth. As you breathe in, pull clean, positive energy up from the earth, through the roots connecting your feet. I like to visualize the energy as green. As you hold the breath, let that light fill your body. As you breathe out send all your worries, stress, tension, anxiety, and any other energy or negativity you wish to release down through those roots into the earth. The earth can transmute that energy. Continue breathing in the positive and releasing the negative a few times.
